How TickerCase tests a stock claim.
TickerCase preserves the original claim, checks its factual premises, separates evidence from inference, and translates any price expectation into measurable operating and valuation requirements.
1. Capture the claim, not the entire video.
TickerCase is not a general video summarizer. It looks for statements about a public company’s future price, return, business outcome, catalyst, valuation, or risk. A transcript may contain no suitable claim, one clear claim, or several claims that require the user to choose.
2. Preserve source fidelity.
The selected claim retains the speaker’s direction, certainty, qualifications, rationale, timestamp, and nearby transcript excerpt. TickerCase should not strengthen a watchlist comment into a recommendation or soften a strong recommendation into a generic theme.
3. Separate evidence states.
- Reported fact
- Directly supported by a filing or reported company result.
- Management statement
- A company target, forecast, or representation—not an accomplished fact.
- Analytical inference
- A calculation or interpretation derived from sourced inputs.
- Not established
- A material premise for which the checked record did not supply adequate support.
4. Translate hype into math.
For measurable targets, the system freezes an as-of reference price, derives any implied target price, uses a sourced share count when available, and bridges current market value to target market value. It then tests what revenue, earnings, business milestones, or valuation multiple would be required.
5. Match timing to the original claim.
The thesis uses information available when the analysis is generated. It does not recreate what was knowable when a YouTube video was posted. Checkpoints after the original deadline may explain an outcome, but cannot support the original time-bound decision.
6. Admit when a claim cannot be tested.
A general market discussion, an unnamed company, missing transcript, or statement with no investment implication should produce a defined limitation—not a fabricated precise answer. Users can then type a more specific claim or try another source.
7. Keep the decision with the user.
TickerCase does not issue buy, sell, hold, position-size, or trade-timing instructions. Its role is to show what is supported, what is missing, and what would have to happen for the claim to work.
